I loved Futurama so I was happy to see that someone took an idea from one of the episodes and is making a Bender robot that brews beer.

What, you ask, does this have to do with beer? Well, not much. However, it does have to do with blogging and since you are reading a blog you may be interested in attending BlogOrlando this year. If you are a blogger, PR or marketing professional, or just someone interested in learning about blogs you’ll find something to interest you.
But, you say, I don’t live in Orlando. That’s OK since we have the perfect infrastructure in place to get you here easily and extract as much money as possible from you in one of our many theme parks, hotels, restaurants or bars. Don’t fret though because BlogOrlando is free. So, make a vacation of it. Spend a day or two at the conference and then hit the theme parks.
Still not enough? Well, how about the chance to meet me? (I’ll wait while you pick yourself up off the floor) I’ll be leading a session on Blogging 101 as well as attending the dinners and sessions on Friday. Who knows, maybe I’ll even buy you a beer

Although I’m about 50 miles as the crow flies (can’t confirm, haven’t seen any crows) from Cleveland, OH (can I get a shout out from my Rock Creek peeps?!?!) I saw the Great Lakes Brewing sample 12-pack in the local market and picked it up faster than you can say “the nearest Starbucks is *how* far?”.
First up is the Dortmunder Gold. Before cheating and looking at the Great Lakes Brewing site, I had a feeling that this beer got it’s name from a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival. How, you ask, was I so prescient? Behold:
OK, enough blathering Chris, how was the beer? I like it.
OK, you want some details. Here they are from the source:
Ratebeer.com shows it in the 88th percentile with a rating: 4.23/5 with 423 ratings. I’d definitely drink this again–and likely will since I have two more in the sample pack. I leave you with a couple more pics:

If you are in Orlando (or have visited) and have been to Orlando Brewing and liked their beer selection, take a minute to vote for them in WESH’s A-List in the Best Beer Selection category.
