Cool Tailgating Keg Kit

10 Sep

The KegWorks blog noted their Tailgate Kegger Kit the other day. This looks like a cool (get it?) way to keep your keg cool without having to deal with a barrel and ice. And, since you get a tap you won’t have to worry about renting one.

NFL Sunday Kickoff – What's in Your Cooler?

9 Sep

Here’s mine:

NFL Sunday Cooler

Visible are Sam Adams Octoberfest and Orange Blossom Pilsner (local brew). Buried under a few of those are four Orkney Skullspliters since we’re going to a watch the Vikings play.

What’s in your cooler/fridge/keg/kegerator/flask?

Review: Flying Dog Dogtoberfest

8 Sep

I’m a bit late on writing this one up and since I am, I’m going to be lazy. See, Flying Dog was kind enough to send me a bottle of the Dogtoberfest just as it was arriving in stores. I promptly chilled it, poured it, drank it, and enjoyed it. A few days later I realized I forgot to take even the lamest of notes.

Luckily for you, dear reader, I do remember that it was good. A very nice beer that I would have liked having again–probably even a couple in quick succession. Now, I know what you’re thinking (and frankly you should be disgusted) so I won’t leave you hanging with just my “buy it/try it” recommendation. Instead, I’ll point you to The Brew Site’s tasting notes on it which are very nicely done.

Next Orlando Area 'Beer Bomb Bus Tour' September 16

7 Sep

I wasn’t aware of the last one and I’m not sure I’ll be able to make this one, but I definitely want to do one. Here’s the description from OrlandoCityBeat (don’t know if I’ll ever be able to suppress a laugh when I read/hear/say/type that):

The Beer Bomb Bus Tour is a bar crawl, a beer class and an out-of-town excursion all in one! Enjoy a Shipyard beer and discussion on the bus as you go from Redlight Redlight, Sanford Wine Company, OM Bar and Chill Lounge and Tir Na Nog Pub.

The Shipyard Beer Bus leaves at 1PM from Redlight Redlight in Winter Park and looks like the last stop is 5:45PM before heading back. More details here.

Thanks to Ryan for pointing this out.
