We found a bug in the comment subscription plugin we are using which caused the comment to be emailed out as soon as it was made instead of when we approved it. The result was that spam comments were being emailed out to subscribers.
I've fixed the code so this will only send out emails when a comment is approved for a post you are subscribed to. Sorry for the junk email.
