BeerRag.com

A commenter on one of our posts noted a blog they ran called beerrag.com. From the site:

What is Beer Rag?

    * Un-mannered Blog on Beer and Life

Check it out. Good stuff with a good sense of humor.

Iceless Beer Cooler

Damn, this must be the week for technology and beer to walk up to each
other and say “Let's get it on!”. This is the first (maybe the second,
I'm too lazy to check) of a few posts on beer and DIY technology.

Most of these ideas will come under the “Why? Because you can!” category and this is no exception. From the site:

Here I present the Iceless Beer Box, an overly complex and undeniably
superfluous solution to a minor problem. The importance of the coldness
of beer has been well documented.
The Internet community has witnessed prior
attempts to
tackle the lightly-pressing issue of quickly chilling beer below 0°C.
Significant advances over previous work include the capacity to chill
several bottles simultaneously and construction from widely available
components.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Go check it out.

A Mug With a Message

Just in time for the holidays (I'm serious, they are coming sooner than you think!) comes the scrolling message mug:

OK, so it is kinda lame that it only has
a few messages (Happy Birthday, Congratulations, World’s Greatest Dad,
World’s
Greatest Mom, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, Cheers Cheers Cheers, I
Love You) but hopefully it can be hacked to say something like “HANDS
OFF MY BEER” or something equally as witty. Supposedly this was sold at
the Discovery store but my super searching skilz came up blank. Maybe
they sold out…

Beer Podcasts and More at podBeer.com

I thought I had linked to this site before, but the handy-dandy,
beer-powered search feature of this blog turned up zero results. So,
without further ado: podBeer.com

As the name would suggest, they do podcasts about beer. Podcasts are
the only reason I wish I had more than a 6 minute commute to work. If I
did, I'd have time to listen to them and (more importantly and
definitely more on topic) podBeer's podcasts.

I just finished listening to the Beef and Beer podcast. I can attest that it is in fact a podcast and is about beer. Seriously, though, they do a great job so check it out.

Brewiki, a Homebrew Wiki

I just ran across Brewiki. Very cool. If you aren’t familiar with what a wiki is, basically it is a web site that anyone can edit or add content to. So in this case if you have something you want to share regarding homebrewing, you can contribute it to Brewiki.
